AlHijjah 7, 1432, Nov 3, 2011, SPA -- A eurozone crisis meeting took placeThursday ahead of the start of a two-day Group of 20 (G20) summit inCannes, but European Union leaders scrapped a planned post-meetingpress conference after their talks ran into extra time, dpa reported. EU President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission PresidentJose Manuel Barroso had been scheduled to brief reporters at 1125 am(1025 GMT). But, with the meeting - involving the leaders of France, Germany,Italy, Spain, as well as International Monetary Fund, EU and EuropeanCentral Bank representatives, - lasting until about 1 pm, when theG20 was due to start, the press meeting was scrapped. EU officials gave no details of what was discussed in thelonger-than-expected talks.
