AlHijjah 3, 1432, Oct 30, 2011, SPA -- The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and Tayba International Consortium comprising three private sector companies, the Turkish TAV, Al-Rajhi Group and Saudi Auger, co-signed here today a contract to rehabilitate and operate Madinah-based Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport, according to the Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) system, under the auspices of Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Massad, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aivation and Inspector General for Civil Aviation Affairs, who is also the Vice Chairman of GACA. Madinah-based Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport is the first airport to be soley constructed and administered by the private sector (PV) in the Kingdom, in accordance with BOT system. -- SPA
