AlQa'dah 15, 1432, Oct 13, 2011, SPA -- Police investigating a far-left bid to disrupt German rail and phone networks found another unexploded firebomb next to railway tracks in Berlin on Thursday, bringing the total number of devices discovered so far to 17, dpa reported. Only two of the devices planted in cable conduits have ignited. The main intercity express line between Berlin and Hamburg remained out of action, after one of the fires knocked out the signal system early Monday. Police said earlier they assumed all the devices were planted at around the same time. Most consisted of plastic bottles containing petrol and a fuse. Reports said telephone networks would have been knocked out if more of the devices had functioned. Railway operator Deutsche Bahn has posted a 100,000-euro (136,000-dollar) reward for information leading to the capture of the bombers. A previously unknown group that opposes German military operations in Afghanistan has claimed responsibility. -- SPA
