AlQa'dah 14, 1432, Oct 12, 2011, SPA - The Governorate of Makkah Region, denied a news report published and attributed to Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Makkah Region, that the plan for floods drainage in Jeddah has set a general goal by draining and removing rain waters that accumulate in intersections, main and side streets and yards. A statement issued by the Governorate today pointed out that the Prince did not say that draining and removing rain waters will be done by using a drainage network or tankers in a period not exceeding 6 hours from the cessation of rain in intersections, 24 hours in main streets, 48 hours in side streets, and 72 hours in yards. It said that the Prince stressed the intensification of efforts to mobilize all potentials to confront any damages that may occur in the coming rainy season through the completion of projects prepared for that and equipping all support centers approved by the Ministerial Sub-Committee in its previous meetings.
