AlQa'dah 7, 1432, Oct 5, 2011, SPA -- An official source at the General Directorate of the Border Guard said today that while an infantry patrol of the border guard at Al-Daer Sector in Jazan Region was on duty on Tuesday evening 6/11/1432 H., it was subject to fire from a group of smugglers who did so after having noticed that the patrol was intercepting their attempt to infiltrate across the border illegally, forcing the patrol to reciprocate, killing one smuggler, injuring another and apprehending him and confiscating 13 weapon pieces they were holding. The exchange of fire resulted in the martyrdom of Lance Corporal Mohammed bin Farhan Al-Gahtani, and the injury of Lance Corporal Majed bin Aqla Al-Enezy whose left leg was hurt by a bullet. He was rushed to hospital. He is now in a stable situation, the source added.
