Awwal 08, 1432 / April 12, 2011, SPA -- A border squabble between Border guard at Dhahran Al-Janoub and a group of infiltrators at the Southern border early today led to the injury and arrest of one infiltrator and killing of one Border Guard soldier, it was reported. Lieutenant Colonel Salem bin Saleh Al-Salami, an official spokesman of the Border Guard, said the infiltrators fired at the Border Guard patrol immediately after realizing they have been spotted by the duty officers at Al-Bitaih border post. The exchange of fire led to the martyrdom of Lance Corporal Ghazi bin Awadh bin Mesfer Al-Gahtani and the injury and arrest of an infiltrator. Investigation was opened into the incident and still going on, the spokesman said. The rest of infiltrators fled away to the South of Adhod Mountain, he added.
