Qatari Minister of Social Affairs Nasser bin Abdullah Al Humaidi and his accompanying delegation left Doha this afternoon for Cairo to take part in the 29th ordinary session of the Arab Social Affairs Ministers" Council, due to kick off there on Sunday. The two-day session will discuss a number of topics listed on its agenda, mainly the Arab draft strategy to address the phenomenon of violence in the family, activating the Arab strategy to reduce poverty, developing mechanisms to monitor the implementation of the Arab Economic and Social Development summit"s resolutions and the Arab Declaration in addition to a number of issues relevant to persons with disabilities, family and child. Participants will also review a number of reports of the Executive office" s resolutions, adopted at its 54th ordinary session, reports of member states on the follow-up of implementing the resolutions of the 28th session of the Arab Social Affairs Ministers " Council and reports of the Directorate for development and social policies for the 28 and 29 Council"s sessions, according to a report of Qatar News Agency (QNA).
