AlQa'dah 3, 1432, Oct 1, 2011, SPA -- The Undersecretary of the Governorate of Jazan Region Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Suwayid inaugurated here today the first solar energy power plant to generate electricity made by the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) in collaboration with Japanese Showa Shell Company in the presence of the SEC Chief Executive Officer Eng. Ali Saleh Al-Barrak, President and Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Aramco Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih and the Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom Shigeru Endo. The establishing of this solar power plant comes in the context of the SEC's efforts to introduce clean energy and to save the transfer of equivalent of 28,000 barrels of Diesel to the Farasan Island. -- SPA
