The 14th meeting of the heads of the News Agencies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states was held here today. The meeting discussed the 2010-2020 joint media work strategy of the GCC countries. The meeting, issued a number of recommendations boosting the joint GCC work in the field of news agencies. In a statement to SPA, Director General of the National Council for Media of the United Arab Emirates Ibrahim Ala'abid, who chaired the session, and Director General of the Bahraini News Agency Mohannad Sulaiman highlighted the importance of the meeting in boosting cooperation among GCC news agencies. The heads of GCC News Agencies taking part in the meeting were Sheikh Mubarak Duaij Al-Sabah, Chairman and Director General of Kuwait News Agency; Director General of the National Council for Media of the United Arab Emirates Ibrahim Ala'abid; Director of the Bahraini News Agency Mohannad Sulaiman Mohsen; Director General of Saudi Press Agency Abdullah bin Fahad Al Hussein; Director General and Editor-in-chief of Oman News Agency Zamzam bint Suleiman Al Rashidiya and General Manager of Qatar News Agency Ahmed Saad Al Buainain.
