The 136th Regular Session of Arab League Council asserted the importance of adhering to the basic relations between Arab countries and Iran as well as the principles of good neighborliness, mutual respect, noninterference in internal affairs, peaceful settlement of disputes and non-use or threat of force. In a statement, the council is deeply concerned over the continuation of the provocative remarks of Iranian officials and media towards a number of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States, which is a breach of the rules of good neighborliness and the principles of the Charter of the United Nations as well as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The AL council called on Iran to stop these statements and media campaigns that do not serve to improve relations between the two sides and achieve security and stability in the region.
