The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States held here tonight the 120th Ministerial Council Meeting. The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates and chairman of the current ministerial council session. The meeting was attended by the GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani. The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was led by Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, the Ministerial Council reaffirmed its commitment to support stability and security of the Kingdom of Bahrain, expressing support to the measures taken by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain to restore security and stability of the country. The Ministerial Council praised the elections to be held late this month in Bahrain which will contribute to promoting the reform process, commending the positive results of the National Consensus Dialogue as well as the initiative of King Hamad to form an independent fact finding commission. The Ministerial Council reviewed the latest developments of joint action, stressing the need for supporting security and stability of the region. The Ministerial Council discussed the developments of a number of political issues at international and regional arenas.
