The death toll in monsoon flooding in southern Pakistan stood at 80 and the number of people affected at over 2 million, officials said Sunday. "So far 80 people have been killed due to rains and floods in Sindh province, which started last Saturday," Asif Jameel of Provincial Disaster Management Authority told the German Press Agency "DPA". "We are bracing to cope with more floods," he said in a telephone interview. Weather forecasters have predicted further rains. According to authorities, 247,848 homes have been destroyed and more than 25,000 hectares of cotton, sugarcane and rice crops destroyed.
