The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Brussels announced today that its planes carried out on Monday 49 combat missions in Libya targeting a large number of military capabilities of Moammar Al-Gaddafi in the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution No. 1973 on the protection of civilians in Libya. Since last March, the number of combat sorties carried out by NATO totaled 7, 233 sorties. NATO aircraft destroyed three tanks yesterday and a number of armed mechanized vehicles, missile launchers, platforms for rockets and tanks, ammunition warehouses and a military center.
