German tourist dies in Grand Canyon lightning strike

A German tourist has been killed by a lightning strike while visiting the Grand Canyon in Arizona, dpa reported.
According to the National Park Service, five other tourists were injured in the incident which occurred Thursday afternoon near the South Rim of the world-famous natural landmark.
Emergency personnel were never able to revive the 64-year-old woman who was part of a visiting tour group, according to National Park Service spokeswoman Shannan Marcak.
The dead woman was not identified, pending notification of her family.
