A teenage French tourist got a trip to remember at the Grand Canyon after he stumbled while taking a photograph and fell into the 1,800 metre deep gorge, according to a statement Friday by the National Parks Service, reported the dpa. The 18-year-old visitor reportedly slipped while taking pictures near the canyon rim, but managed to halt his fall some 24 metres down the steep rock face. Park rangers managed to rappel down to the injured man, who was helicoptered to safety and was being treated in hospital for wrist, ankle and neck injuries.
