The head of Zimbabwe's stock exchange says hackers attacked its website and it has been shut down, according to AP. Emmanuel Munyukwi, chief executive at the ZSE in Harare, said Friday that consultants reported the first attempts to breach the site late last month and a new attack on Wednesday. Munyukwi said a new website is needed. He said they have not found the hackers who reportedly tried "phishing" techniques to acquire sensitive information on banking, account details and passwords,. Stock transactions are not made on the site that brokers routinely use to follow the performance of the 79 counters listed on the exchange and other financial trends. Zimbabwe's finance ministry and other government sites have recently been targeted by hackers.
