Police say Maoist rebels have shot and killed three villagers in eastern India, AP reported. Bihar state police chief Neelmani, who uses only one name, said more than 100 rebels attacked Banda village 112 miles (180 kilometers) west of state capital Patna on Saturday night. Neelmani said the slain villagers were opposed to the rebels. Few other details were immediately available. Police have launched a massive operation to hunt down the attackers.
