Awwal 23, 1432, Feb 26, 2011, SPA -- Police say they have killed six suspected Maoist rebels as they were fleeing from their hide-out in eastern India, as AP reported. Neelmani, chief of Bihar state police, says one suspected rebel was arrested after the shootout Saturday in Banka district, a rebel stronghold. Neelmani, who uses one name, says three of the dead rebels were dressed in police uniforms. He says the insurgents blew up the abandoned home where they were hiding as a police patrol challenged them.
