The ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Egypt, who is also the Permanent Representative of his country to the Arab League Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Gattan today conveyed his country's recognition of the South of Sudan as sovereign state. The ambassador also notified the Arab League that Saudi Arabia welcomes the birth of the South Sudan state, officially recognizes it and is ready to establish full diplomatic relations with the new state, wishing it an effective new role of the world community. Saudi Arabia also wishes that the two parts of The Sudan exchange good neighborlihood and mutual respect in a way that serves the two countries as well as the security and stability of the region.
