The Jordan Customs Department on Tuesday sealed a Declaration of Principles Memorandum with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) of the Department of Homeland Security. The memorandum, signed by Jordan Customs Director General Ghalib Sarayreh and CBP Container Security Initiative Director Daniel Stajcar, aims at facilitating the entry of Jordanian goods into international markets and U.S. markets in particular, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported. Sarayreh said that Jordanian importers and exporters will benefit from facilitating the entry of goods to the port of Aqaba and the U.S. ports. Stajcar said that the memorandum will facilitate the U.S-Jordanian trade exchange, stimulate trade in the port of Aqaba, strengthen the capacity of Jordan Customs in the application of global best practices and facilitate the global trade supply-chain in a way that serves the two countries.
