Two rockets were fired Friday at a U.S. warship docked at Jordan's Red Sea port of Aqaba, state-run Jordan TV said. The rockets apparently flew over the bows of the vessel and injured two people in the port, who were taken to hospital, dpa said. Jordanian authorities stepped up security of the port area after the incident and helicopter gunships were seen flying overhead, the television said. Earlier, Interior Minister Awni Yerfas said a "minor blast" had occured in Aqaba, which is 300 kilometres south of the capital Amman. In the nearby Israeli port of Eilat, a rocket apparently fired from Aqaba damaged a car. --SP 1322 Local Time 1022 GMT
