An explosion ripped through an apartment building in the southwestern Chinese city of Tongren Saturday morning, leaving at least three dead and three others injured, rescuers said. The explosion occurred on the ground floor of the nine-story building at about 5 a.m. in the city in Guizhou Province, said Yu Weidong, of the local fire-fighting brigade. Shards of glass from broken windows, bricks and water pipes were scattered within dozens of meters around the building, he said. Local police are investigating the cause of the explosion, Xinhua reported.
