A double terrorist attack in Norway on Friday claimed at least 17 people, with many more injured, after a bomb exploded in central Oslo followed shortly afterwards by a shooting spree at a political youth camp 10 kilomteres outside the capital, dpa reported. Police said the twin attacks were linked. Seven people were killed in the mid-afternoon bomb explosion that went off outside government buildings in Oslo, leaving scenes of carnage. Meanwhile, Police Chief Sveinung Sponheim said late Friday that 10 dead were reported from the shooting on the island of Utoya, about 10 kilometres west of Oslo where the youth camp was being held. A total of 14 were injured, two of them seriously, in the bomb attack. Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg who was unharmed in the blast described the situation as "very serious" and late Friday was to meet with members of his government. Stoltenberg was expected to give a press conference later Friday.
