Khobar, Saudi Arabia, Sha'ban 21, 1432, Jul 22, 2011, SPA -- Having undergone successful surgical operations at Al-Khobar-based King Fahd Dammam University Hospital, eleven deaf people aging from two years to 32 restored hearing, it was reported here today. Dr. Layla Al-Tilmisani, Head of Ear, Nose and Throat Department at the hospital said cochlea transplantation surgeries started in 2009 with the latest operated last month, noting that the hospital was set to launch the hearing survey program for newly-born children at the hospital to diagnose their hearing situation at the earliest.
