A tropical storm off the Pacific coast of Mexico is likely to become a hurricane later Tuesday, the US National Hurricane Centre said according to dpa. Tropical storm Dora had sustained winds of 110 kilometres per hour and was expected to strengthen, the Miami-based centre said. The storm could become a major hurricane by late Wednesday. Dora was located some 660 kilometres south-southeast of Acapulco and 425 kilometres south of Puerto Angel. Mexican authorities had not yet issued any warnings for coastal areas.
