A rocket carrying a GPS satellite launched early Saturday from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, , according to UPI. The launch had been delayed twice during the week because of bad weather, Florida Today reported. The satellite is a GPS IIF-2, the second in the latest generation of GPS satellites. A network of 24 satellites now orbits the Earth to provide electronic guidance to travelers from 11,000 miles up. "The GPS system's overall navigational accuracy will improve as more GPS IIF space vehicles are put into service," said Col. Bernie Gruber of Space and Missile Command.
