Two Russian oil field workers died in a Tuesday helicopter crash, Russian aviation officials said, according to dpa. The accident took place some 500 kilometres north of the central Siberian city Irkutsk. Early news reports said 11 people had been injured. The Mi-8 passenger aircraft had been carrying 13 passengers and 3 crew to work at a remote oilfield in the vicinity of the town Ust-Kut, Interfax reported. Two survivors of the crash, both members of the Mi-8 passenger helicopter crew, were in serious condition, Interfax reported. The local air transportation company Utair was the operator of the aircraft. Transport ministry officials were investigating the cause of the crash.
