A news agency report says two soldiers were shot dead as they left their homes for work in southeastern Turkey, according to AP. State-run Anatolia says unknown gunmen opened fire on the two sergeants in the mainly-Kurdish province of Hakkari on Tuesday. Also Tuesday, police said a small roadside bomb went off on a busy road in the Turkish capital, Ankara, damaging at least four vehicles. No one was hurt in the attack. It appeared the bomb was designed to create a loud noise but minimal damage.
