Kurdish rebels bombed a train and a military vehicle in southeastern Turkey on Tuesday, and security forces foiled another two attacks, the Anatolia news agency reported. There were no casualties reported in the bombings. One bomb was exploded by remote control on a train in eastern Elazig province that was carrying freight and railway security personnel, knocking five cars off the tracks, Anatolia reported. A similar train attack on July 2 killed six and injured 12, AP reported. A bomb also exploded beneath a military vehicle carrying soldiers in Bingol province on Tuesday, damaging the vehicle but causing no injuries, the agency said. The two foiled attacks both occurred in the predominantly Kurdish Tunceli province. Tunceli, Bingol and Elazig are neighboring provinces in eastern Turkey, and all have seen an increase in violence between Turkish security forces and Kurdish rebels in recent months. Security forces found and destroyed one bomb _ made using one kilogram (2.2 pounds) of C-4, that they believe targeted Tunceli Gov. Mustafa Erkal.
