Officials and state media say flash floods and whirlwinds have killed two people, left three others missing and injured 80 in northern Vietnam, as AP reported. Disaster official Tran Van Nham of Yen Bai province says Friday that authorities have recovered the body of a 20-year-old man and are searching for three others still reported missing when flash floods swept them away while walking cross a stream Thursday morning. In northern port city of Hai Phong, a pregnant woman was killed Thursday by a falling tree, Thanh Nien newspaper reported. The whirlwinds also injured 80 others, 40 seriously, it said. High winds also blew the roofs off more than 1,000 homes. Northern Vietnam has been pounded with rains over the past two days as storm Haima was hovering off its coast.
