A magnitude-6.7 earthquake struck early Thursday in north-eastern Japan, the Meteorological Agency said. No casualties or damage were reported. According to dpa, the quake prompted the agency to issue a tsunami advisory on the coast of Iwate prefecture, but no tsunami waves were detected, and the warning was lifted, the agency said. No new damage was reported at the stricken Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station in Fukushima prefecture, which was crippled by Japan's catastrophic March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
