Saudi embassy in London refutes press allegations that Saudi Arabia's donations for educational institutions in Britain contradict with domestic regulations
Saudi embassy in London today refuted press allegations that Saudi Arabia's donations for educational institutions and charitable associations in Britain contradict with British domestic regulations and laws as mere lies. In a press release, the embassy said the donations raised in the Kingdom were presented to eminent educational institutions and well-known charitable associations in the United Kingdom, including the Oriental and African Studies College of the University of London. The statement said the press allegations depicting such support as a source of doubt or suspicion and no more than an attempt to buy leverage and influence of the decision-makers of such institutions yet do confirm that the directors of such anti-Saudi campaigns are just forging lies and forfeiting reality and then believe what they have thought about. It added that all donations collected from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were complying with United Kingdom's domestic regulations and laws. Quickly finding its way to the British press, the article which doubted this support was written by a recently-established student organization which is unknown in the educational circles and with links with a domestic body, the statement said, describing it as containing a collection of doubts obsessing the minds of some groups with well-known incentives and goals. The embassy confirmed that Saudi Arabia will no doubt continue the endeavor of providing support for such renowned universities and charities since it is a noble act, clean-oriented, uncovered and matching with domestic regulations and laws of the host country.
