Ollanta Humala, who is Peru's president-elect pending confirmation by official election results, arrived Thursday in Brasilia, at the start of a South American tour that was also to take him to Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile, dpa reported. Humala went straight to the presidential palace in Brasilia for a meeting with Brazilian President DilmaRousseff. With close to 99 per cent of the ballots counted, Humala got close to 51.5 per cent of the votes in Sunday's runoff in Peru, to the 48.5 of right-wing populist Keiko Fujimori. Humala was to meet with Lula in Sao Paulo Friday.
