One miner was rescued and 11 others were still trapped after a coal mine flooded in southwest China's Guizhou Province Sunday morning, local authorities said. The Fuhong coal mine in Jinyang New District of Guiyang City flooded at approximately 9:00 a.m., Xinhua quoted a spokesman with the provincial work safety bureau as saying. One person was rescued as of 4 p.m., according to Luo Yi, a publicity official with the Jinyang New District Management Committee. Efforts are continuing to pumping water out of the coal mine to rescue those trapped miners. The cause of the accident is unknown.
