The website of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) (www.gosi.gov.sa) won the 10th round of "Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award 2011" for Service Project. In a statement on this occasion, GOSI Assistant Governor for Information Technology Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Omran said this achievement is attributed to GOSI staff who made concerted efforts to redevelop GOSI electronic portal in a way that meets the needs of browsers and users, including employers, contributors and beneficiaries. Al-Omran also said the website includes all transaction procedures and how to perform them using various e-channels. The website provides the Social Insurance Law and Regulations as well as information on the social insurance benefits. Moreover, the website has a section of the frequently asked questions (FAQ), classifying questions according to the subject and user category. Another section lists various e-services provided by GOSI for its clients. In addition, the website has an advertising banner which displays messages that raise the awareness about social insurance. "The website assigns a webpage for each client category (contributors, employers, retirees, survivors and treatment bodies), through which they can find all information they need, and can conduct all transactions without the need to visit GOSI offices," Mr. Al-Omran concluded.
