Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs, expressed hope that current incidents in Yemen, which he described as regrettable, will end in the best interest of the Yemeni people, saying that, of course, every development in the Arab world or the Kingdom's neighbors would have its moral impact on the Kingdom. In a meeting with reporters following his patronage of the closing ceremony of the 4th Conference for the Military Courts and Councils held in the North Western Military Region, Prince Khalid bin Sultan also expressed hope that reason and prudence would prevail in Yemen to overcome the crisis. Saudi Arabia is always ready to contain all circumstances, particularly the security of its borders and the stability of the country, he added. Asked whether there is concern in Saudi Arabia over political differences in Iran that might affect stability in the region, Prince Khalid bin Sultan expressed unchecked confidence in the Saudi leadership to tackle all developments, saying that Saudi Arabia takes into consideration all accounts, seeks prudence with its neighbors and is interested to bring about security and prosperity in the region. He denied reports that there are plans to enforce compulsory military service, confirming that routine enlistment is going smoothly leaving no room for enforcing conscription in the Kingdom. He confirmed that the military units from the north western region stationed in the Eastern Region have been sent on a mission to support the Peninsula Shield Force and their presence there depends on a GCC leaders decision. In response to a question on the future of military courts, he expressed great hopes of their success, but underscored the importance that every military man should be reassured that justice would be achieved regardless of military ranks.
