Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia qualified this evening to the 16-team round of Asia Soccer Champions tournament after beating Al-Gharrafa of Qatar 2 love at King Fahd International Stadium within the tournament's group A. By winning the match, Al-Hilal proceeded to the second place after Iran's Sabahan who shares Al-Hilal the 13 points standard but overpasses it on goal difference. With this result, all four Saudi teams participating in the championship: Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Al-Shabab and Al-Nasr qualified to the 16-team round. Accordingly, Al-Hilal plays its countrymate team of Al-Ittihad in Jeddah while Sabahan hosts Poniodkur of Uzbekistan.
