King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan received here this evening Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is currently visiting Jordan. A Jordanian statement said the meeting discussed the existing cooperation ties between the two brotherly countries in all fields. The Jordanian King and Prince Saud Al-Faisal also reviewed the Gulf/Jordanian relations and means of enhancing them in all various arenas, especially when the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States welcomed yesterday the Jordan's request to join the GCC. Jordan's King expressed appreciation to the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the leaders of the GCC in support of a request of Jordan's accession to the Council, stressing that this step is cementing the documentation of historical ties and common grounds in addition to strengthening the bonds of cooperation relations between Jordan and the GCC member countries in various fields, the Jordanian statement concluded.
