An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale jolted a border area between China and Russia at 11:26 p.m (Beijing Time) on Tuesday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center. The epicenter, with a depth of 560 km, was monitored at 43.3 degrees north latitude and 131.2 degrees east longitude, Xinhua quoted the center as saying in a statement. The epicenter is 80 km away from the county seat of Hunchun in China's northeastern Jilin Province, and 140 km away from the province's Yanji City.
