An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale jolted the juncture of Yushu prefecture and Haixi prefecture in northwest China's Qinghai Province at 7:42 a.m. Beijing Time Wednesday, Xinhua quoted the China Earthquake Networks Center as saying. The epicenter, with a depth of 6 km, was initially determined to be at 35.8 degrees north latitude and 92.7 degrees east longitude.
