At least two people, including a policewoman, were killed and several injured Tuesday when a bomb exploded at the gate of a court in north-western Pakistan, police said. District police chief Mohammad Qurish Jan said the blast in Nowshehra, 40 kilometres north-east of Peshawar, the capital of Khyber-Pakhtunkkhwa province, was caused by a bomb triggered by remote control. "One female police officer and a civilian died in the attack, and eight more people are injured," Jan was quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA". The bomb exploded when police were searching people entering the court.
