A man convicted of attempting to smuggle anti-aircraft missiles into the United States has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison, according to AP. Yi Qing Chen was sentenced Monday in Los Angeles. The naturalized U.S. citizen was convicted last October of attempting to ship the shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles into the U.S. from his native China. Prosecutors say he was the first person indicted under an anti-terrorism law adopted after the Sept. 11 attacks. The 49-year-old Chen was also convicted of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine and of trafficking in counterfeit and contraband cigarettes. For smuggling the counterfeit cigarettes, he was ordered to pay $520,000 to a tobacco company.
