A convicted Nigerian drug trafficker was beheaded, Wednesday in Makkah the interior ministry said. Shuaib Ali Mohammed, who had previous convictions for drug smuggling, was sentenced to death for trafficking cocaine. The beheading brings to 66 the number of executions announced this year. Last year, 153 people were executed in the Kingdom. Rape, murder, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking can all carry the death penalty.
