Prince Sultan bin Salman, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, confirmed that the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are accommodating a great historical and cultural heritage, pointing out that their common heritage is a significant basis for the solidarity of the GCC member states and their cultural and historical outreach. In a speech at the opening ceremony of the 12th Forum for the History and Antiquities Association of the GCC member states in Riyadh today, Prince Sultan bin Salman said the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities is currently embarked on a great national task under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, his Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier to highlight the civilizational aspect of the Kingdom.
