Nine people were killed and more than 100,000 displaced due to floods and landslides triggered by a storm battering the Philippines, a government agency said Monday. The Office of Civil Defence said a 16-year-old boy was missing in the eastern town of Libon in Albay province, 350 kilometres south-east of Manila, after he was swept away by floods Sunday. Most of the fatalities drowned or were buried in landslides, the office was quoted as saying by the German Press Agency "DPA".
