Egypt's Prime Minister Dr. Isam Sharaf met here today with Saleh Kamel, the President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as the two sides discussed possibilities of cooperation and support for Egypt's economy. During the meeting, Dr. Sharaf confirmed that the investment environment in Egypt is not changing and that his government encourages private investment and is committed to expedite the necessary licenses and approvals to facilitate the investment process. For his part, the head of the Islamic chamber presented a proposal to establish a development bank in Egypt to promote the culture of small and medium projects.
