The GCC Working Group in-charge of following up the preparation of detailed studies on "the uses of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes," will hold its 17th meeting here next Sunday. During its two-day meeting, the Group will discuss a Technical Cooperation Project with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for the year 2012-2013. The Group will also study a strategy with "Light Bridge" Company, pertaining to the draft of a Workshop project with the European Union, scheduled to take place in the month of July. There will also be discussions on a paper to be submitted by the Secretariat General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) that would deal with a proposal inviting experts in various disciplines to present latest advances in the usage of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
