Awwal 21, 1432, April 25, 2011, SPA-- Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayers were performed this morning throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in pursuant of the Prophet's Sunnah (Traditions) to perform "Istisqa" prayers in case of drought or delay in rainfall. "Istisqa" prayers were also performed at universities and schools in various provinces of the Kingdom. In Riyadh, Prince Salman Ibn Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh Province, attended 'Istisqa' prayers at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque. The prayers were led by The Grand Mufti of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and President of Council of Senior Scholars and General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh who called in his sermon on Muslims for repentance, forgiveness and beseeching Allah Al-Mighty for rainfall.
