Awwal 20, 1432, April 24, 2011, SPA -- A Qatari state-controlled gas producer has signed a deal to sell up to 2.4 million tons of liquefied natural gas a year to British energy Centrica. Qatargas says the three-year sales and purchasing agreement signed Thursday and announced over the weekend covers gas produced by its Qatargas 4 division. The fuel will be shipped to Britain's Isle of Grain terminal. Financial terms were not disclosed, according to a report of the Associated Press. Qatar holds the world's third largest natural gas reserves and is the biggest supplier of liquefied natural gas. Qatargas 4 is a joint venture between state-run Qatar Petroleum, which owns 70 percent, and Royal Dutch Shell.
