Awwal 15, 1432, April 19, 2011, SPA -- U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife, first lady Michelle Obama reported an income of $1.728 million for 2010, much of it stemming from the sale of the president's books. On the day that tax filings were due to file, the White House released the tax figures for the president as well as Vice President Joe Biden, saying that the Obamas paid federal taxes of $453,770. The Vice President and his wife, Doctor Jill Biden also released their 2010 federal income tax returns, as well as state income tax returns for both Delaware and Virginia. They filed joint federal and Delaware income tax returns. Doctor Biden filed a separate non-resident tax return for the state of Virginia. Together, they reported an adjusted gross income of $379,178, the White House reported. The Bidens paid $86,626 in total federal taxes for 2010.
